Projekt B02: Test fundamentaler Physik mit optischen Uhren

Im Projekt werden hochgenaue optische Uhren auf der Basis von 171Yb+-Ionen und Sr-Atomen eingesetzt, um neuartige physikalische Effekte zu untersuchen, die das Standardmodell der Teilchenphysik in Frage stellen. Im Rahmen von DQ-mat wurden bisher die strengsten Limits für zeitliche Variationen und Gravitationskopplungen von Fundamentalkonstanten ermittelt. Weitere Verbesserungen der optischen Uhren werden solche Tests und die Suche nach Kopplungen zwischen normaler und dunkler Materie erleichtern. Die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Projekten wird den Umfang und die Empfindlichkeit dieser Untersuchungen erheblich erweitern.
